How It Works

Managing Payment Processing Fees in 4 Steps

Fee configuration in PayBito is a single global setting — no per-product rules or complex logic needed. Set it once, apply everywhere.

1

Open Fee Handling

Navigate to Configuration → Checkout Templates → Fee Handling in your merchant dashboard to access processing fee settings.

2

Choose Your Fee Mode

Select either Customer Pays Fee (added on top) or Merchant Absorbs Fee (deducted from payout) with a single radio button.

3

Save & Apply

Click Save Changes. The rule applies globally across all your billing profiles — PayPal, Stripe, and crypto — immediately and automatically.

4

Track on Dashboard

View fee-adjusted transaction amounts, successful payouts, and net revenue in real time from the merchant dashboard Transactions panel.

Fee Modes

Two Ways to Handle Payment Processing Fees

Pick the model that fits your business strategy. Both modes are supported across all gateways and billing types — switch any time.

Most Popular

Customer Pays Fee

The processing fee is added on top of the checkout total. Your customer sees the full cost at checkout and your payout reflects the full product price you set.

Example — $100 product order
Product Price$100.00
Processing Fee (2.9%)+ $2.90
Customer Pays$102.90
Your Payout$100.00 ✓
  • Full product price received in payout
  • Transparent fee shown at checkout
  • Works across PayPal, Stripe & crypto
  • Applies to one-time & recurring billing
Merchant-Friendly UX

Merchant Absorbs Fee

The processing fee is deducted from your payout. Your customer pays exactly the listed price — creating a seamless, fee-free checkout experience that can improve conversions.

Example — $100 product order
Product Price$100.00
Customer Pays$100.00
Processing Fee (2.9%)− $2.90
Your Net Payout$97.10
  • Clean, fee-free price for customers
  • Reduces checkout friction & abandonment
  • Ideal for competitive markets
  • Full visibility of net payout in dashboard

One Setting. Universal Application.

Your chosen fee mode applies automatically across all checkout templates, billing profiles, and payment gateways — no per-profile configuration needed.

Fee Control for Every Billing Model

Whether you sell products once or bill customers on a schedule, the same fee management rule applies without any additional configuration.

One-Time Payments

Generate a payment link, button, QR code, or hyperlink for a single transaction. The global fee setting applies to every one-time payment created on your account — no per-link fee setup required.

  • Fee mode applied to all one-time links
  • Customer-pays or merchant-absorbs — both work
  • Visible fee breakdown in Transaction logs
  • Invoice expiry + tolerance controls included

Recurring Subscriptions

Subscription billing cycles — monthly, quarterly, or custom — also inherit your global fee handling setting. Each renewal charge follows the same rule, giving customers and your accounting team consistency.

  • Same fee mode on every renewal cycle
  • Consistent customer billing experience
  • Works with crypto and card subscriptions
  • Net payout per cycle shown in dashboard
